Tournament Golf 2017

WPGA Order Of Merit 2017

A huge THANK YOU to all the support I've had throughout the season, especially from my sponsorship team CF Corporate.  I have ended up finishing in 3rd position for the LETAS Qualifying Order Of Merit, just 1 point behind joint 1st place! Great work to my foursomes partner Katie Rule, for coming joint 1st!

Finishing 3rd puts me through to the LETAS International Challenge Tournament played on the last week of September at Stoke By Nayland GC. This tournament is part of the Ladies European Tour Access Series, the next level up from WPGA.

Monday 6th March- WPGA Foursomes

On Monday this week I played in the WPGA Foursomes at The Berkshire Golf Club, the course was in superb condition and the greens were soft from the rain Sunday evening! The Foursomes always marks the first tournament of the season for me, and with my new Yonex clubs in the bag I was looking forward to it.
Myself and partner Katie Rule (Mullion Golf Club) are defending winners of the competition so the pressure was on to keep our title!

We played a steady front half, staying level par after 9 holes - one bogey and one birdie double on the card. Dropped a shot on the par 5 13th after a little trouble off the tee but made it back up on the par 5 14th making a birdie. Unfortunately I think we got a bit nervous (or excited!) on the last hole as we stood on 18 level par and made a double! But we defended our title and finished first place.

March- Sunningdale Foursomes

We've had a busy playing week this week from the pro shop staff. Sarah and I ventured down to Sunningdale on Monday for the foursomes. We were first off on the new course on Tuesday morning and drawn against George Parker and Jack Colegate.

Both players were full time touring pros and ex England internationals as amateurs, they hit the ball out of sight but what stood out was their short game. We hit every single fairway and not just hit them but flushed it down the middle. We were two down after four from a couple of unforced errors from the fairway but the next five holes we had a chance to win every hole but could only take one with a birdie on nine.

They rode their luck at times but got up and down on every occasion bar one and holed everything from inside fifteen feet. They eventually beat us 3&2!

Friday 2nd June- Lombard Trophy

Friday last week I played with Helen Porter in the Lombard Trophy Qualifier at Dunham Forest Golf Club (again!) Helen qualified to play with me as she had the best nett score for the ladies April Medal.

The Lombard is a great competition for both men and women to play in once a year, it's usually ran around April time where the nett winning score of the monthly medal plays a regional qualifier at an away course with Rob or myself, with the possibility of coming top 3 and qualifying to a final in Portugal!

The forecast for Manchester was very wrong yesterday as it was meant to stop raining at 11am, our tee time being midday we had heavy rain from the 2nd to the 18th, and most of the three & a half hour drive home! With a steady round and Helen blitzing 3 out of 4 par 3's with a par, we finished 1 over par, missing the cut by 3 shots! We came 8th altogether and made a good pairing as when one of us didn't have such a good hole the other person was there for back up.
